I am excited to announce that we will be hosting a sew-along beginning July 1st! Our very first, please tell your friends and we can all stitch together! Use #letsbefriendssal to share our progress on Facebook and Instagram
We now have a Facebook group to share and encourage our progress - check it out here: Let's Be Friends SAL What is this all about? On July 1st, you can download the block pattern instructions FREE! from this page!
Then working on your own or with your very special quilting friends, you can sew-along with me. Our goal will be to make 2 blocks per week for 20 weeks (plus 1 block). At the end of the 20 weeks, I will provide instructions for a quilt setting and borders for your blocks for FREE! This setting will make an 84" x 84" quilt. Of course you can choose your own setting for your blocks - it will be totally up to you!
What fabric will I need? This quilt has been designed using 1 fabric background for blocks, setting and borders (and perhaps binding). The blocks are designed to have 1 fabric (+background) only and each block will be a different fabric - so scrappy...sort of! lol There is an inner border that will require a contrasting pop of colour. Bust your stash or use my handpicked beauties for this beautiful quilt (see below). I will be using a gorgeous black fabric for my background. Yes! You can purchase fabric selections from us or choose from your stash - it is all up to you. It is going to be gorgeous - if I do say so myself!
Fabric Options: Background: I have chosen a black print background from Andover Fabrics - which is now sold out! But the great news is that I have been able to find another beautiful black print from Moda that will be gorgeous - maybe even better! Thus my quilt will be dark. You can choose whatever you want as your background fabric - dark, light, medium. If you want a light quilt choose a light fabric for the background. You may also purchase any of our selections: 1. Background Fabric: Moda Black tonal print fabric (same as I am using) 2. Our scrappy selection of 42 different colours for the blocks. This is all just arrived fabrics - a beautiful selection of Kim Diehl prints and Jo Morton prints that look really yummy together. 3. Sew-Along BCS Foundation Paper printed to make half-square triangles the perfect size for these blocks! AND 4. A beautiful clear stadium bag with our logo on it to keep everything together! PLUS 5. A special pricing for the complete kit!
