| Q: |
Where
did this year’s
mystery quilt name come from? |
| A: |
Naming my quilt designs
is not an easy task. But this one was very
simple. My husband Ron and I were travelling
to Spring Market 2006 which was being held
in Minneapolis, Minnesota. This is about
an 18 hour drive from Ontario and with
sketchbook in hand, this year’s design
was born! Thus “On
the Road to Minnesota” became the
name. |

|
| Q: |
I am a BCS
Club Member and want to make my quilt
larger. Can I? |
| A: |
Each year the BCS Mystery
Quilt is offered in two different sizes
alternating between: lap, single, double
or queen. But often a few quilters require
a larger size – that is okay. This
year’s double size (78” x 96”)
can be easily made into a queen measuring
90” X 108” or a king measuring
100” x 118”. Please see below
for the additional fabric requirements
necessary for the larger quilt sizes. If
this is still not large enough well… you
might want to get a smaller bed! |
On the Road to Minnesota Mystery Quilt
As
a mystery quilt, it is obviously hard for you
to know what to do to increase the quilt’s
size and since I still wish to keep it a mystery,
I have gone back to the drawing board. I think
you will like the result.
Queen size: 90” x
108” finished size
Additional amount
of fabric required:
Fabric #4: 1.2m or 1-3/8 yds.
Fabric
#6: 1.0m or 1-1/8 yds.
King size: 100” x 118” finished
size
Additional amount of fabric required:
Fabric
#1 or #2: 1.0m or 1-1/8 yds. (Either
fabric will work – which
one do you like better?)
Fabric #4: 2.0m or 2-1/4 yds.
Fabric
#6: 1.0m or 1-1/8 yds.
These changes will not occur until
Installment 7 and instructions will be posted
mid March. Please check back for these instructions.
